Dibble

Your garden data stays on your devices

Dibble is local-first and private by design. Your gardens, plantings, journal, and photos live on your device and sync only through your own iCloud account. We do not run a server that stores your garden, we do not require an account, we do not show ads, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your data. The short version: there is almost nothing for us to collect, because your data stays with you.

What Dibble stores, and where

Everything you create in Dibble (your gardens, plantings, calendar, journal notes, and photos) is stored on your device. If you use iCloud, it syncs through your own private iCloud account so it is available on your other devices. We do not operate a server that stores any of it. Photos you add to your journal stay on your device and your iCloud, the same as the rest of your garden.

If you use plant disease diagnosis, the photo is analyzed by a model that runs entirely on your device. The image is never uploaded, and we never see it.

Location and weather

Location is used only if you turn on live weather alerts, and only to fetch a local forecast so Dibble can warn you about frost or heavy rain. Forecasts come from Apple Weather (WeatherKit): your approximate location is sent to Apple to return the forecast and is handled under Apple's privacy policy. Dibble asks for location only when you enable the feature, and you can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings. Without it, you can still use everything else by entering your ZIP or postal code.

Apple services and other companies

The only companies involved are Apple services that make the app work: iCloud (to sync and back up your data), Apple Weather (for forecasts, if you enable weather alerts), and the App Store (for purchases). When you buy Premium, Apple handles the payment and tells Dibble only whether you have an active plan; we never see your payment details. Each of these is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not share your data with any other third party, and we never sell it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you remove it. You can delete a garden, along with its plantings, journal, and reminders, from Settings, and you can delete everything by removing the app. If you use iCloud, deleting in the app removes the data from your iCloud too; you can also manage or delete Dibble's iCloud data in iOS Settings under your name, then iCloud. Because there is no account, there is nothing for us to delete on a server, and nothing to request from us. You can export your full garden as JSON or CSV from Settings at any time, so your data is always yours to take with you.

Children

Dibble is a general-audience gardening app. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
